The preview for episode 9 of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, titled The Rose of Sharon, has been released.

In episode 8, the story revealed untold aspects of the One Year War, particularly the fall of Solomon. It also focused on Nyaan, who accompanied Kycilia, unveiling a new layer to the narrative.

The preview for episode 9 shows Amate Yuzuriha (MACHU) still held in custody in Sodon, suggesting we may finally learn what happened to him behind the scenes of episode 8 and how he managed to escape.

Adding to the mystery is a cryptic message delivered to MACHU. In the preview’s final cut, a figure resembling Lalah Sune—a character who appeared in the original Mobile Suit Gundam—can be seen from behind, hinting at even more unexpected developments.

What exactly is The Rose of Sharon, believed to have been lost during the Zeknova incident? Is it connected to this Lalah-like figure? These questions point to major revelations ahead.

About Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Set in a space colony, the series follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a peaceful life until she meets Nyaan, a girl displaced by war. This encounter thrusts Amate into the underground world of Clumbattles, illegal mobile suit duels.

Taking on the entry name “Machu,” Amate pilots the GQuuuuuuX mobile suit and soon finds herself in relentless combat. As the story unfolds, she crosses paths with a mysterious Gundam—pursued by both the Space Forces and the police—and its enigmatic pilot, Shuji Ito, signaling the dawn of a new era.

This latest Gundam installment is a collaborative project between Studio Khara (known for the Evangelion series) and Sunrise (the studio behind all previous Gundam works). Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for directing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, helms the project.

The series is written by Yoji Enokido, with mechanical designs by Ikuto Yamashita. The voice cast includes:
