Oreimo Illustrator Draws Hilarious Switch 2 Lottery Illustration, Featuring Kirino's Joy and Kyousuke's Frustration
Hiro Kanzaki, the illustrator of the light novel Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo), updated his X account on April 25, drawing major attention online. To celebrate the announcement of the lottery results for the "Nintendo Switch 2" (set to release on June 5), he shared a commemorative illustration.

The artwork features the protagonist Kyousuke Kousaka and his younger sister Kirino. In the illustration, Kirino is shown celebrating her success in the Switch 2 lottery, while Kyousuke looks frustrated after losing.
Interestingly, there's a behind-the-scenes story behind the illustration. In the anime adaptation, Yuichi Nakamura, who voices Kyousuke, actually lost the lottery in real life. On X, he humorously posted in Japanese:
ア……ァァア…ァァアア……アァァァァ嗚呼…
(Aaa... AaAaa... AaaAAaaah...)
とりあえず当選してる人とは絶交します ひとまず
(For now, I'll cut ties with anyone who won.)
Meanwhile, Ayana Taketatsu, who voices Kirino, won the lottery. Kanzaki's illustration captures this real-life outcome perfectly.
Online reactions included comments such as:
"Is this a voice actor joke? LOL"
"I couldn't stop laughing, it's too timely!"
"Is this the new cover for Ore no Imouto ga Ore ga Rakusen Shita Chusen ni Tosen Shiteiru Wake ga Nai?"
"Poor Kyousuke! But I'm happy for Kirino!"
"Kanzaki-sensei is the best!"
"It really feels like a realistic scene! Kirino's cheerful expression is adorable!"
