The Kept Man of the Princess Knight
Synopsis
In the labyrinth city of Grey Neighbourhood, where chaos and ash intertwine, lies a dungeon teeming with monsters and treasure. But lurking in the shadows of its radiant glow are parasites of society. Amidst this filth blooms a pure crimson flower—Princess Knight Alwin, a warrior at the vanguard of dungeon expeditions, seeking relics to restore her fallen kingdom.
Among the city's many drifters is Matthew, a former adventurer who clings to Alwin like a leech. Jobless, weak in battle, and a pathetic gambler who squanders his allowance on booze—society sees him as nothing more than a worthless bum.
Yet, none in this city know his true nature.
"If you're a threat to my princess, I'll kill you."
"Hah! You? Just a spineless weakling—!"
"Keep this a secret, will you? She doesn’t need to know what we pests are up to."
He does not hesitate to dirty his own hands.
"Matthew, you are my lifeline."
"As long as you need me, I won't let go. I told you, didn't I? I'm your kept man."
Everything he does is for the Princess Knight.
Winner of the Dengeki Novel Prize, this gritty isekai noir is set to shake up the genre!
