Reasons Behind the Cancellation

The developers cited challenges in meeting quality expectations as the primary reason for scrapping FM25. The game was set to introduce major advancements, including a new Unity engine and enhanced graphics, but delays and technical hurdles made it clear that the project could not meet its ambitious goals within the adjusted timeline. Sports Interactive explained that releasing FM25 in its current state would compromise the series' reputation for excellence.
In an official statement, Sports Interactive acknowledged the disappointment this decision may cause fans, especially those who had pre-ordered the game.
Additionally, "Customers who pre-purchased the digital version will be eligible for a refund in accordance with the platform policies of each store."

While this news may be disappointing for fans eagerly awaiting FM25, it underscores SEGA and Sports Interactive’s dedication to delivering a polished product that meets player expectations.
