Manga 'Wataten!' to Conclude in 3 Chapters After 8.5 Years of Serialization

It was announced on January 18 that the manga Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me (Japanese: 私に天使が舞い降りた!, Author: Nanatsu Mukunoki) will conclude in the April issue of the serialized magazine Comic Yuri Hime (published by Ichijinsha). With only three chapters remaining, the series is set to bring an end to its eight-and-a-half-year run, which began in November 2016.

The series is a sketch comedy that follows Miyako, a socially awkward and otaku university student, as she becomes captivated by Hana, a friend her younger sister recently brought home. Overwhelmed with excitement at first sight of Hana, Miyako embarks on a humorous and heartfelt quest to get closer to her. The story was adapted into a TV anime that aired from January to March 2019 and was later made into a film in 2022.

Creator Nanatsu Mukunoki Announces the Ending

The author, Nanatsu Mukunoki, updated their social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the news:

"The latest issue of Comic Yuri Hime is out today! Along with the new chapter of Wataten!, I have an announcement. Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me will conclude in the April issue! After finishing this month’s chapter, there are just three left! Please stay with us until the very end!!!"
