The Story Behind Wingman

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (1983–1985), Wingman is the debut work and one of the most iconic creations of renowned manga artist Masakazu Katsura, known for Video Girl Ai and I"s. The live-action adaptation follows the story of Kenta (played by Maito Fujioka), a high school sophomore and tokusatsu hero enthusiast.

With the help of his friends, Kenta creates his own hero persona, "Wingman," complete with handmade suits and weapons. His life takes an unexpected turn when Aoi (Konatsu Kato), a mysterious girl from the otherworldly realm of Podrimus, appears on Earth. Using the power of the "Dream Note," Kenta gains the ability to transform into Wingman for five minutes, setting the stage for a thrilling adventure.
