GINTAMA and Tougenkyou Alien to Release Collaborative Music Video Special Opening Animation Garners Attention
A collaborative music video between the popular manga GINTAMA (created by Hideaki Sorachi) and the song "Tougenkyou Alien" by serial TV drama will be premiered on the Jump YouTube channel at 8:00 PM on the 14th.
"Tougenkyou Alien," originally released as the opening theme for the GINTAMA anime, remains one of the series' most popular theme songs. The unique opening animation that accompanied the song also became a major topic of discussion.
GINTAMA is a science fiction historical comedy manga that began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2003. Set in a fictional Edo period dominated by aliens called "Amanto," the story follows the adventures of the all-round handyman Gintoki Sakata and his companions. The series concluded in June 2019 and has sold over 73 million copies in print. The anime adaptation began airing on TV Tokyo in April 2006 and has aired four seasons, with theatrical films also released.
