Message from Hideaki Sorachi
“Thanks to all of your support, Gintama has reached its 20th anniversary, allowing me the privilege of displaying Japan’s ‘dirtiest manga drafts’ once again at this torturous exhibition! Thank you all. Since the pandemic, the manga world has rapidly shifted to digital work. Despite being a digital holdout, I’ve finally gone digital, and with the latest equipment... I mostly just search for interesting videos now.
Thank you for participating in the character poll—even five years after serialization ended, I’m grateful that so many people still remember these characters. And as I reflect, it dawned on me: Shinpachi’s 8 really is his number, and if you turn it sideways, there it is—∞. Shinpachi, you've been with us all along!"
