[Demon Slayer] Noh and Kyogen Demon Slayer - Tsugu - Scheduled for December Performance
The Noh and Kyogen production Demon Slayer - Tsugu - is set to be performed from December 25th to 29th, 2024, at the Kanze Noh Theater in Ginza Six, Tokyo. The production will also tour Fukuoka, Osaka, and Aichi in 2025. Once again, the main visual for the performance has been specially illustrated by Demon Slayer’s original author, Koyoharu Gotouge, exclusively for this event.
Mansaï Nomura will direct, revise the script, and perform in the production, while the Living National Treasure, Bunzo Ōtsuki, will oversee the project.
Nomura, who will be playing Rengoku Kyojuro (among other roles), commented, "After the great success of the first production, we are pleased to present the much-anticipated sequel, Noh and Kyogen Demon Slayer - Tsugu -. This time, we will depict the stories of Rengoku Kyojuro, Enmu, Akaza, Uzui Tengen, Daki, and Gyutaro within the worlds of Noh and Kyogen."
He added, "In the previous production, we focused on the birth of Demon Slayer Tanjiro Kamado and the sorrow of the demons. This time, we will spotlight the lives of the Pillars who confront the demons. We are currently refining the script and directing plan for this new work, aiming to showcase the vast variety of Noh and Kyogen to everyone. Look forward to it!"
