"Jujutsu Kaisen": Introduction Image of Toge Inumaki Released, Showcasing His Concern for Classmates and Juniors Ahead of the Exhibition
A major exhibition titled "Gege Akutami's 'Jujutsu Kaisen' Exhibition" that delves into the secret creation stories behind the manga "Jujutsu Kaisen" is scheduled to be held from July 6th to August 27th at Hikarie Hall inside Shibuya Hikarie, Tokyo. In celebration of this event, X has released character introduction images.
Among the images released is that of Toge Inumaki. Described as a second-year student at the Jujutsu High School and a Cursed Speech user, whose words carry the power of curses. To avoid cursing people unintentionally, he limits his vocabulary to rice ball fillings during normal conversations. He always carries throat medicine due to the damage his Cursed Speech does to his throat. While he may appear hard to read emotionally, he is in fact very considerate towards his classmates and juniors.
The exhibition's highlight is a comprehensive disclosure of the digital creation process of "Jujutsu Kaisen," including commentary from the author. It will showcase how the story, characters, and illustrations were conceived, evolved, and reached new heights. Early drafts and sketches before the final manuscripts are generously displayed.
Ticket sales for the exhibition are time-slotted and will be available in phases: "Premier Pre-Sale," "First Half," and "Second Half," with a lottery for certain dates. Prices are 2,000 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for middle and high school students, 1,000 yen for children aged 4 to elementary school students, and a uniform price of 4,200 yen for tickets with goods. The goods-included ticket offers an acrylic diorama of either the Unlimited Void or the Inverted Spear of Heaven, and purchasers can choose their preferred design.
"Jujutsu Kaisen," which began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in March 2018, is a dark fantasy where high school student Yuji Itadori enters the world of cursed battles after a powerful "Cursed Object" is unsealed. The manga has surpassed 90 million copies in circulation. Its popularity surged with a TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, a theatrical anime released in December 2021, and a second season of the TV anime from July to December 2023. A sequel, "Jujutsu Kaisen: Deathly Vow Revival," has been announced.
