Mercedes and the Waning Moon Reveals New Trailer and 4 Additional Cast Members

The TV anime Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat has released its second promotional video and announced four additional cast members ahead of its January 2027 broadcast. Kenta Miyake, Ryunosuke Watanuki, Junichi Suwabe and Ai Kayano will join the cast.

Four Additional Cast Members Join the Anime

Kenta Miyake will voice Benkei, one of Mercedes' companions, while Ryunosuke Watanuki plays Kuro, who also becomes her companion.

Junichi Suwabe will voice Florian, who works at the guild where Mercedes exchanges requests as a Seeker. Ai Kayano joins the cast as Mercedes' mother, Lydia Grunewald.

Miyake commented that he intends to repay the kindness his character has received from his master, while Watanuki said he is looking forward to seeing how the dungeon atmosphere and battle scenes are portrayed. Suwabe teased uncertainty over whether Florian will be an ally or enemy, while Kayano described Lydia as charming, positive and strong-willed.

Introduction

Mercedes Grunewald was once an office worker in modern Japan who ended her previous life with deep regret after living without a clear purpose.

Reincarnated as a vampire from an impoverished aristocratic family, she resolves to live her second life without regrets and to die with a smile. Seeking to escape poverty and forge her own path, Mercedes decides to challenge dungeons as a Seeker.

After training and growing stronger, however, she encounters monsters waiting in the deepest parts of the dungeons, along with a larger mystery surrounding them. The story follows the vampire girl as she takes on a new dungeoneering adventure.
