The Apothecary Diaries Leads Japan's Weekly Manga Ranking

In the latest user-provided Oricon weekly manga ranking, The Apothecary Diaries (Manga) Vol. 17 took No. 1 with an estimated 121,378 copies sold. It finished 84,860 copies ahead of No. 2 and alone represented 34.8% of Top 10 sales. Three titles recorded their first chart appearance, while Square Enix placed three books and accounted for more than half of the ranked weekly total. The ranking reflects estimated physical book sales in Japan.

The gap between the two titles was 84,860 copies. The No. 1 title also represented 34.8% of all Top 10 sales, making the week unusually concentrated at the top even though the remaining nine places were comparatively close together.

Square Enix Accounts for More Than Half of Top 10 Sales

Square Enix placed three titles in the ranking: The Apothecary Diaries (Manga) Vol. 17 at No. 1, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You Vol. 9 at No. 2, and Tokyo Aliens Vol. 13 at No. 4. Together, they sold an estimated 187,695 copies, or 53.8% of the Top 10 total. Kodansha also placed three titles, led by Space Brothers Vol. 46 at No. 3, but its combined weekly total was 78,585 copies.

Space Brothers Ends in the Top 3 as One Piece Passes One Million

Space Brothers Vol. 46, the series’ final volume, ranked No. 3 with 33,913 estimated weekly copies and reached 171,925 estimated cumulative copies for this volume. At No. 5, One Piece Vol. 115 added 28,809 copies and reached 1,020,422 estimated cumulative copies for this volume.
