In Anime "Dededede", Double Leads Ikuta Rira & Ano Say Co-Creating the Theme Song "Brought Out New Sides of Each Other"

---Though you mentioned having little experience in voice acting, as professionals using the same voice, did you find similarities between singing and voice acting?

Ano: Trying out voice acting, I realized that the rhythm, placement of words, dynamics, and how emotions are conveyed were very similar to singing. Whether that's the right approach, I'm not sure, but it felt natural for me this time, and looking at the finished product, I felt it was the right choice.

Ikuta: I agree with Ano-chan about the rhythm and emotional delivery being similar to singing. Also, during dubbing, we were quick to tune the temperature of our performance, which felt like a "resonance" between two people involved in music.

---In the movie, amidst a dystopian dark world, the characters find small happiness in their daily lives. How do you face forward when you're overwhelmed by anxiety or dark thoughts?

Ano: I do feel vague anxieties. Even without a clear reason, I've felt down since I was young, and it still happens. To overcome this, I face myself, though it's honestly tough at times. But that's the only way... If I feel like making a song about it, I do.

Ikuta: I also get overwhelmed by anxiety, wondering where I'm headed in life, but my passion for singing, songwriting, and music keeps me going. Even when I'm nervous on stage to the point where my legs freeze, reminding myself that I love to sing makes me feel invincible. Returning to my "core" helps me feel okay.
