Kengo Kawanishi & Kenji Akabane Lead Teams in LINE Manga’s Voice Actor Discovery Audition
The digital comic service LINE Manga has announced that it will hold the 2nd LINE Manga & AMG Team Battle! Voice Actor Discovery Dubbing Audition in collaboration with the Amusement Media Academy (AMG), a school dedicated to training professionals in the entertainment industry. This marks the second consecutive year for the audition project.

LINE Manga to Hold Voice Actor Discovery Dubbing Audition
LINE Digital Frontier, which operates LINE Manga, upholds the vision of “creating the future of manga” and is committed to expanding works globally while discovering and nurturing new creators. In line with this mission, and together with AMG, which also focuses on professional development, the company will hold the audition for the second year in a row. The event will feature webtoon titles as material and will be open exclusively to current AMG students aspiring to become voice actors.
The audition’s assigned work is Codename: Badro (story by Kim Jeong-hyeon, art by Lim Lina). The story follows Badro, a legendary killer who devoted his life to an organization, only to be robbed of all his wealth and murdered. However, when he awakens, his aged, disease-ridden body has returned to his younger self of decades past. Using his renewed youth and wealth of experience, he vows to take revenge on the organization.

Leading the audition as “team leader voice actors” are AMG alumni: Kengo Kawanishi, best known for voicing Muichiro Tokito in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Kenji Akabane, who voices Shinichi Sakurai in Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!. Current AMG students will join either of their teams, challenge dubbing assignments and tongue twisters, and share their performance videos on social media. Outstanding videos will be selected for awards: the “Grand Prix,” the “LINE Manga Award,” and the “Special Award.” Winners will receive prize money and the right to appear in a LINE Manga promotional video, with special benefits also granted to the winning team.
Entries will open in mid-September. On September 27, a special event will be held for prospective AMG applicants, offering a chance to observe video recording sessions featuring the two leader voice actors. Last year, the project saw around 1,500 videos submitted, including one that garnered over 600,000 views, creating significant buzz. This year, tongue-twister challenge videos are scheduled to be posted starting in mid-October.
