MegaHouse Corporation (a Bandai Namco Group company, President & CEO: Akihiro Sato, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has announced that its figure series Portrait.Of.Pirates ONE PIECE, based on the popular TV anime ONE PIECE, has surpassed 5 million units shipped worldwide.

To commemorate this milestone, a special edition figure titled "Portrait.Of.Pirates ONE PIECE 'LIMITED EDITION' Monkey D. Luffy - Gear Second" will be released in February 2026.

About the "Portrait.Of.Pirates" Series

The Portrait.Of.Pirates (P.O.P) ONE PIECE series is a line of fully-finished figures produced by MegaHouse that brings to life characters from the ONE PIECE anime using a wide variety of design approaches. The series is well-regarded for its intricate sculpting and detailed painting, which faithfully capture each character's unique traits.

Since its launch in 2004, the series has received widespread support both domestically and internationally. As of now, the product lineup includes around 360 different figures, with over 5 million units shipped globally.

Commemorative Release: Luffy's "Gear Second" in Figure Form for the First Time

To celebrate the 5 million milestone, the commemorative figure "Portrait.Of.Pirates ONE PIECE 'LIMITED EDITION' Monkey D. Luffy - Gear Second" will be officially released in February 2026, with pre-orders opening on September 5, 2025.

This product recreates the iconic moment when protagonist Monkey D. Luffy first unlocks his "Gear Second" form. It marks the first-ever 3D representation of this transformation in the P.O.P series.

"Gear Second" represents Luffy’s first major evolution, driven by his determination to become stronger in order to protect his friends. This impactful transformation scene has been meticulously recreated by the P.O.P team, who, like Luffy, have honed their craft through years of dedication—delivering a dynamic and powerful sculpt with masterful paintwork.

That same year will also mark the 22nd anniversary of P.O.P. With all these '2s' lining up, it felt like fate to bring this product to life.Back in 2017, the release of the 'MAXIMUM' Gear Fourth figure sparked a resurgence for the P.O.P series.
