"Uncle from Another World" Takes 1st Place in the Isekai Category—Voice Comic Featuring Anime Voice Actors Announced! Results of the 2nd “Everyone Votes! Manga General Election” Revealed

The results of the general voting for the user-participation project "Everyone Votes! The 2nd Manga General Election", which determines the top titles in each popular genre on the web manga service Nico Nico Manga, were announced on the 7th. Alongside the announcement, a seven-day campaign will run from August 7 to 14, offering additional free chapters of the winning titles to celebrate their awards.

In this year’s Manga General Election, general voting was held for nominated titles across three popular genres on Nico Nico Manga: Isekai, Romantic Comedy, and Gourmet. Each nominee featured campaign elements on a special website, such as a “manifesto if ranked 1st,” a “party name,” and an “election poster-style image.” Users voted for their favorite titles not just based on the appeal of the manga itself, but also considering creative aspects like the manifesto and party name.

In the Isekai category, the hit series Uncle from Another World, which has surpassed 5 million copies in circulation, claimed the top spot. Its much-anticipated manifesto—a voice comic featuring the anime cast—will now be realized, drawing enthusiastic attention from fans.

In the Romantic Comedy category, The Prince’s Friend, which received overwhelming response upon its one-shot release on Nico Nico Manga and was later serialized, took 1st place. Its promised reward—an all-new short manga focusing on the character Saigawa—will now be produced.

In the Gourmet category, which was included for the first time this year,I LOVE DOKAGUI! MOCHIZUKI-SAN, a breakout title that topped Japan’s X (formerly Twitter) trends multiple times since its 2024 debut, came in first. As part of its manifesto, a full volume’s worth of episodes will be available to read for free for a limited time.

Further details on when each manifesto will be carried out will be announced via the official Nico Nico Manga X account.

The election received over 120,000 votes, with the Isekai genre gathering the most. The newly added Gourmet genre followed in second, reflecting the rising popularity of gourmet manga.
