Tomica and Initial D Collaboration Realized: Scene-Recreating Products to Launch in December

Tomica's adult-focused brand "tomica" is releasing four new collaboration items with the manga Initial D, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025. Launching in December, the products include iconic vehicles and detailed scene recreations. Preorders began August 5 via Takara Tomy Mall, and a separate event-exclusive set will be available from August 8.

December Release Features Four Initial D-Themed Items

Takara Tomy has announced a December launch for four new die-cast products under its "Tomica Premium unlimited" line, created in collaboration with Initial D. The lineup includes:

AE86 Trueno and FD3S RX-7 models with dashboard sets under the STEERING VIEW series
A playset recreating the Fujiwara Tofu Shop
A Nissan Silvia (S13) driven by Koichiro Iketani

Each product features high attention to detail, with custom parts, mini figures, and display cases included. The dashboard sets reproduce interior elements such as cup holders and modified meters, while the tofu shop set captures the building's silhouette and lighting as seen in the manga’s early chapters.

These products are aimed at adult collectors and are available through toy stores and online retailers, with preorders open from August 5 at Takara Tomy Mall.

Event-Exclusive Set with Signature Packaging

In addition to the main product line, a limited edition DREAM TOMICA Initial D SPECIAL SET will be sold exclusively at select events starting August 8. This set includes five vehicles:
AE86 Trueno
Nissan Silvia (S13)
FC3S RX-7
FD3S RX-7
Toyota MR2 SW20

The packaging features a printed signature from Initial D creator Shuichi Shigeno, making it a collectible item for fans. The set will only be available at designated event venues and is priced at 4,950 yen (tax included).

Global Showcases Across Asia and Japan

The collaboration will also be featured at automotive and anime events across Asia. Scheduled appearances include:
AUTO SALON 2025 in Malaysia and Thailand (August)
Initial D 30th Anniversary 2Days at Fuji Speedway in Japan (September)
All in TUNING 2025 in China (October)

These events will showcase the new Tomica x Initial D products and allow fans to see the detailed models firsthand. Takara Tomy has stated that this collaboration is part of its 55th-anniversary initiative for the Tomica brand, which aims to expand its appeal among adult collectors.

The company commented, “We’re pleased to offer an experience that adults can now fully enjoy,” reflecting the brand's shift toward nostalgia and high-detail design.
