The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved Witchy Pretty Cure! (Mahoutsukai Precure!), titled Witchy Pretty Cure!! Mirai Days, premieres on January 11 in ABC and TV Asahi’s late-night anime block “ANiMAZiNG!!!” (Saturdays at 2:00 AM JST). This marks the first time a Pretty Cure series will air in a late-night slot.

The original Witchy Pretty Cure! aired from February 2016 to January 2017 as the 13th installment of the Pretty Cure franchise. It told the story of a magical bond between the “Magic World” and the “Non-Magic World” (human world), filled with miracles and magic.

A New Vision for Grown-Up Fans

As part of an initiative to reconnect with fans who grew up with Pretty Cure, Witchy Pretty Cure!! Mirai Days is the second project aimed at adult viewers. Following the success of The Power of Hope Precure Full Bloom '23 (October 2023), this sequel continues to explore how Pretty Cure can be enjoyed by fans of all ages.

Story Recap

Curious and full of wonder, Mirai Asahina first encountered the magical girl Riko during her spring break in middle school. Guided by miracles and magic, the two transformed into the legendary witches, Pretty Cure. Alongside Mirai’s cherished teddy bear Mofurun and the fairy Haa-chan born from the Linkle Smartbook, they faced the chaos threatening the Magic and Non-Magic Worlds. However, their victory also brought about a painful farewell.

Years later, a miraculous reunion occurs. Mirai has become a university student in the Non-Magic World, Riko is now a teacher at the Magic Academy, Mofurun remains by Mirai’s side, and Haa-chan watches over the world from afar.

However, a new calamity strikes both the Magic and Non-Magic Worlds, bringing Mirai and Riko back together once more. As they fend off a mysterious enemy, the duo must confront their shared past and the future that awaits them. With the magical words “Cure-Up Rapapa!”, an exciting new chapter begins!

Episode 1: "A Miraculous and Magical Reunion!"

Mirai Asahina leads what seems like an ordinary life as a university student while secretly helping others with magic as the "Magic Girl." She enjoys her chaotic but happy days with Mofurun, her trusty teddy bear companion.
