[Kamen Rider] Chinen Hidekazu Announced as Lead in New Kamen Rider Series 'Kamen Rider Gavv' at Age 19
Following the new era of Kamen Rider that began with "Kamen Rider Zero-One" in 2019, followed by "Kamen Rider Saber," "Kamen Rider Revice," "Kamen Rider Geats," and the currently airing "Kamen Rider Gotchard," the sixth installment of the Reiwa Kamen Rider series will begin in September. The protagonist of "Kamen Rider Gavv," also known as the "Confectionery Kamen Rider," will be played by 19-year-old Chinen Hidekazu.
Chinen was selected as one of the finalists from a pool of 15,918 applicants in the 2nd "Star Audition" held by Stardust Promotion, which has previously featured many actors in the Kamen Rider series.
The story follows Shouma, the protagonist who transforms using the power of confectionery and a belt shaped like a mouth to battle enemies known as Granute. Shouma also makes an appearance in the movie "Kamen Rider Gotchard The Future Daybreak," released today, and transforms into Kamen Rider Gavv, providing a sneak peek of his transformation.
Full Comment from Chinen Hidekazu:
"Nice to meet you! I am Chinen Hidekazu, playing the role of the protagonist Shouma.
It is a great honor to be able to play the lead role in the significant Kamen Rider series, which I have admired since childhood.
Feeling both the expectations from everyone for this historic series and the pressure, I will use it as a great driving force in creating the work!
Together with Kamen Rider Gav/Shouma, I will face this role with all my heart and soul, aiming to grow as an actor. I would be delighted if you could watch over me warmly.
I look forward to you enjoying both the movie and the TV series! Thank you for your support for the next year starting in September!"
