"The Boy and the Heron DVD" sold 13,000 copies in its first week, and "The Boy and the Heron Blu-ray" also sold 13,000 copies in its first week, both securing the No. 1 spot in the "Weekly DVD Ranking" and the "Weekly Blu-ray Disc (BD) Ranking" announced on July 11.

This work is the home video release of the animated film "The Boy and the Heron," directed by Hayao Miyazaki, which was released in July 2023. It is Miyazaki's first feature film in about ten years since "The Wind Rises" in 2013. The film depicts the journey of Mahito, an 11-year-old boy who has been evacuated, as he is led by a "heron man" who shifts between the form of a blue heron and a human, exploring "another world."

The DVD ranking has been compiled since April 5, 1999.
The BD ranking has been compiled since July 7, 2008.
The Music DVD & Blu-ray Disc ranking has been compiled since October 14, 2013.
